May 10, 2001 — This first Review of "Zoolander" starring Ben Stiller, comes from E Film Critic. While giving us a great review of the film, it also gives us some interesting bits of new information about "Zoolander," since the film has been pushed back from it's Release Date, news has been a bit slow. Here is what E Film Critic had to say:
Stiller is naturally funny, he could cut his toenails and make it funny, same with Will Ferrell. And both these guys dig their teeth into these roles like a fat guy does a hoagie. Stiller plays Zoolander with a nice sort of spaced out narcissism which isn't a new idea, but his execution is flawless. Will Ferrell also plays a very generic kind of character (a flamboyant fashion designer) but does so with so much energy and wit that it seems completely fresh. Plus his hair is totally fucking totally in this flick. And Owen Wilson does fantastic as well. He plays a wild sort of choad guy, y'know like one of those extreme sports sort of guys, only he's a fashion model. Jerry Stiller plays Zoolander's agent or manager or something. He's funny as always. Ben Stiller's wife Marcia Brady plays a meddlesome reporter who despite acting as the obligatory love interest, is actually pretty good and is a stepping stone for many a joke. Just watch the drugged out orgy scene with the goat and tell me that's not great. Not to mention all the cameos. I won't list any of 'em because it's nicer to be surprised. Plus there were so many I'm having trouble remembering all of 'em so suck it.
There you have it! "Zoolander" sounds as if it will be yet another one of Ben Stiller's many hits! In order to read the rest of the review in the full, just head on over to the E Critic Website.
You can check out "Zoolaner" in theaters Nationwide sometime this Fall, we'll keep you updated on when the Official Release Date has been announced! |
