How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
I love the Austin Powers films very much, and I was looking forward to this one inparticular.
Movie Review:
My thoughts on this movie...
People always ask me: "What do you like better, the first Austin Powers or the second" ? I say "I'm hoping the third will be the best because, usually the third installment wraps up a story nice and clear" which this film did. However, some sequels can really suck like this one did. I hated this Austin Powers film !

First of all, I did like the opening with all the cameos with famous actors and actresses featured. It was interesting to see. The thing that bullies this film the most is the weak plot and shameless jokes. The jokes in this film are just old and silly. I did not have a very good laugh at this film very much. Another shameless thing to point out is the attempt to make up a stupid story to keep the sequels coming. This film does that a lot and never knows when to stop. It just so happens that Austin knows the newcomer Foxy Cleopatra and has known her for a great deal of time. I mean in the first movie, Austin was frozen from the time period of 1967 to 1997 which adds up to 30 years total. How could he have known Foxy if he was frozen during those 30 years. The whole traveling through time thing is getting old too. Another flaw in this film is when the film opens Austin teeth are perfectly fixed up and nice. When he travels into 1975 to get the arch enemy Goldmember and rescue his father, his teeth go back to the old nasty business. However, when Austin returns back to 2002 his teeth are still gross and not fixed back up. Wow !
What the hell ? New Line who also distributed the awful 'Jason X' has also gone out with this film and has rushed it almost as quick as 'Rush Hour 2' was, which that turned out to be a good sequel and well thought up, unlike this film. I will point out a few slight laughes that I had during the film. The scene with Austin and Mini-Me behind the curtain was funny, and so was the opening sequence with Tom Cruise playing Austin Powers. That made me laugh, and those were probably the only times I did laugh. The pacing in this film is bad also. It takes forever for something to happen and gets really spaced out. Another thing: What happened to Heather Graham? She isn't even mentioned in this film at all, which sucked.

Overall, I expected this film to be much better than what I'm thinking about it right now. I felt this was a weak attempt to get Mike Myers back into the shoes of Austin Powers. The filmmakers today are just getting even more dull into coming up with not only a good reason to make sequels, but are becoming more and more less than satisfactional. In this film expect the unexpected. Its as stupid as it looks if you really think about it. - Not enough laughes *
