Bigelow Talks Weight of Water

October 15, 2002 — Director Kathryn Bigelow talks with the Toronto Sun regarding her upcoming film.

The Weight Of Water, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Anita Shreve, fit her stringent criteria, especially on the personal front. The book is centred around the murders in 1873 of two Norwegian immigrant women on a remote island off New Hampshire. (A grotto near Nova Scotia's scenic Peggy's Cove was used for filming.) Bigelow's mother came from Norway.
