Since I'm in Los Angeles, I saw it a couple weeks ago, and I do think it is a decent movie. If it were American, I can see Barry Corbin (wargames) in the role as the mayor. That guy from Seinfield did an excellent job in changing character for this film.

So how good is the film?? I live in Portland, OR so I have to wait until the release date in 24 days 14 hours... Also I have read that it was a huge hit over in Aussie land. How big was it, did everyone just go out and watch it and then tell everyone else to go and watch it and so on and so on.

Basically Fred, the Dish was the first script that the working dog production company wrote, however funding didn't allow for it as it was their first idea/film. They made 'The castle' and everyone went nuts over it, so when 'the dish' came out, the public went and saw it, and were suprised at the skill of the film making (Aussies have low opinions of the Australian film industry) Anyway it was as you said, word of mouth made it spread, and it made the biggest box office hit in the first weekend than any other Aussie film in the last 12 years. That's how big it was...go see it, as this is to be a standard for future Aussie Films (If I have anything to do with it!)

Hey thanks for the info. I read that it had been the biggest hit and that the Working Dog company put out the castle (which is why DremWorks has to cheange their name to their new movie). But I was unaware why it was such a big hit. Thanks again for the info and I cannot wait until Apr. 27th, I am sure you can guess where I will be.

Hurrah! I saw this film on April 7, in Seattle. I thought it was very charming depiction of an important time in recent history. I was 18 years old, just graduated from high school back in 1969, so it brought back memories of the Apollo 11 event.

Dang. I was so young then...

NOTE TO SELF: Enjoy youth, as it is fleeting
