| My thoughts on this movie... |

| Do reviewers get paid more to say a movie is good or something? Because frankly I have seen this sort of thing done before in far more imaginative and clever ways (any episode of Futurama for instance). Theres just so much of this that makes no sense, extremely convenient plot contrivinces, bad casting (i hate the actor who played the president he's just not funny), lazy storytelling and wasted oppertunities for a great movie. If you're looking for a British style movie that's hilarious, clever and entertaining, watch Shaun of the Dead. Because Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is just another example of film-makers getting low on ideas and grasping at any old cult crap to make a few bucks. PATHETIC. ps. John Malkovitch? where did he go? and remember when he removes the presidents other head? Not to get too technical but it wasnt even a head it was an extra face (on his neck) so thats wrong even by the films standards. Alan Rickman was amusing as Marvin the Depressed Robot, even with his (very) limited screentime, and I know movie baddies are supposed to be terrible shots but the baddies in this shoot everything EXCEPT their targets. Oh and the afformentioned Marvin gets the back of his head blown out then inexplicably springs back to life. And don't get me started on the whole "we have an earth back-up". In a word, LAZY. |
