Don't get me wrong, the movie rocked, its just that when I held it against the books, there was so much that got left out, or put in that didn't need to be there. So, read the books, before or after, doesn't matter. (FYI: the movie is just the first book in the trilogy, not all five like one of my friends thought) Check out my site! You'll enjoy it just fine without having read any of the novels. Seeing it will make you even more eager to read them, but they are not a necessity to understand the film.
