Zombies long delayed House of 1000 Corpses has finally been picked up by Lions Gate Entertainment, a studio with balls. Responsible for the release of another highly violent (but certainly not as violent as Ho1KC) and controversial American Psycho, Lions Gate has stepped up to bat and shown that they actually own a pair. LG has purchased the distribution rights for both the R-rated cut which will be released theatrically and the Unrated Cut which will receive plenty of love on home video and DVD.
Heres what the big honcho (in this case Tom Ortenberg, President) over at Lions Gate had to say:
"With 'House of 1000 Corpses,' Rob Zombie has created an in-your-face, unrelenting horror film experience. We are really looking forward to working with Rob and having a lot of fun with this campaign."
Sadly, LGs plans for releasing the film have pushed it out of the anticipated month of October and into first quarter of 2003. Damn, thatll make it two friggin years since the Inspector and I had seen the film at that fateful Universal test screening.
Two years too long.
Theres been no mention of the Petes Wicked Ale contest so dont be too disappointed if you dont find a Bill Moseley cardboard stand-up at your local liquor store. The Corner will look into it though.

I'm probably the biggest fan of this movie and I've been waiting on this movie for close to 4 years now. But I dont think it will do anything at the box office as far as being #1 or even #10. What I do think this movie will do is question everyones views and thoughts. This is a very "unique" movie. There has never been any movie like this that has been distributed to be shown at theatres nationwide. Be ready to hear this movie talked about all over the news and entertainment magazines. Trash and filth will probably be the two words most associated with this movie. People are not ready to see a movie like this...People freak out over Scream and other movies with violence. House of 1000 Corpses goes way beyond just "violence". Everyone go check out my review for this movie in the "review" section of this countdown.
I dont know you got alot of fans out there they ahev been waiting for this movie if enough people go see it it could make it in the box office I just got through watching that other Lions Gate's movie called Frailty it was really good check it out if you havent saw it yet anybody movieluvr I think you would like it
