August 12, 2004 — The Rock was in Australia last week promoting "Walking Tall" and told a couple of reporters about what's being planned for the game-to-film flick "Doom".
Dwayne: "There is a movie coming up based on Doom. It's very early in the works. It's a science fiction thriller. If you do sci-fi, I say go rated R - make no apologies and go for the scare".
Oddly enough, when Warner Bros had the rights to the film (it's now at Universal), they wanted to make it a PG-13 feature.
"Doom", will apparently be based on the third game in the series, which focuses on a vastly outnumbered hero fights off the forces of hell as they come from the portal onto a deserted paramilitary base on Mars, where a scientific experiment hasn't gone according to plan.
