Why is everyone so sure it was Lucas' idea to put in aliens? Or that he's the only one responsible? Speilberg has made many many many movies with aliens, and considering the aliens in this film looked eerily similar to the ones from Close Encounters, I just don't think you can put all the blame on Lucas, everyone is responsible (though I loved the film so I love them for it)
That would be cool, though if they did make another anything interesting would satisfy me, biblical, paranormal, interdimensional whatever it's all cool to me. "At last, we shall have our revenge". Darth Maul

Best quote from Red Vs Blue:
Doc: I'm a pacifist.
Caboose: Your a thing that babies suck on....
Tucker: No dude, you mean a pedophile.
Church: Tucker, I think he means a pacifier.
Tucker: Oh...yeah....right....man my mind was totally somewhere else.
Church:.....that's real classy Tucker..... |

If Indy5 went back to its original root with biblical relics, then i would be fine with it as long as Lucas is NOT involved cause he'll probably make the story that aliens stabbed Jesus' side.
Too bad they couldnt make this story back in the day and used Nazi's again.
You are SO ridiculous. I hope you realize that Indiana Jones wouldn't even EXIST...AT ALL...if it wasn't for Lucas. AND that Lucas came up with the story for ALL the Indiana Jones movies. AND that Spielberg approved the Magoffins for ALL the movies. AND Spielberg didn't even want to do The Holy Grail at 1st but Lucas convinced him to do another one of your precious Bible stories. AND...ALL the movies have to do with a religious item. "It depends on who your God is." And I could go on and on about how ridiculous you sound. So please just pull the "I Hate Lucas" Stick out of your butt already and BE QUIET. I should have expected this coming from a star wars nerd. Well said. Now go watch Star War 4, special edition, limited edition, original edition, etc. and countdown the days to your stupid cartoon star wars movie.
Dude, he's right. Lucas was responsible for the first three (and fourth) stories. But occassionally Lucas goes off his rocker and does aliens or Jar Jar Binks or Ewoks. It's to be expected.
You're a cool dude, psycho, but right now you're making yourself look like an ass. . .

psycho1 said: Seriously people, how can you support Aliens in an Indy movie? just sad IMO.
for two reasons.
1. Many non-Judeo-Christian religions involve inneraction with visitors from the Heavens. Looking at the ancient Egyptian or even as recently as the Druids of the 1100's, there has been the beliefe that some powerful visitor from Heaven came down and granted the people great knowlege and technology (irrigation, the lever/fulcrum, math, etc.). And many believe that these ancient religions believed these people from Heaven were from space. So the film just makes the same leap of faith they did in the first three films and assumes there is truth in this philosophy as well. I mean, if one religion is right, why can't they all be?
2. The films are a tribute to the B films of their time. The first 3 take place in the 30's, when action seriels like Zorro, the Lone Ranger, Tarzan and the Phantom were huge. So the fist 3 Indy films capture some of those elements.
The most recent film takes place in the 50's, so it pays tribute to the B films of that era, which were science fiction movies like "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "War of the Worlds".
My only dissapoiintment is that they didn't do a film in between 3 and 4 that would take place in the 1940's as a war movie tribute.
As a fan of the history of cinema, I loved it though. And while I can understand you not liking it because it may appear different than the others (no Nazis, no Christian relic), the second film was pretty different as well (mystical rocks, Thuggee warriors, magic sleep).
