Wow.

You know, I consider myself a true geek, and even *I* think that it's sad that someone goes through a movie like that so meticulously to pick out mistakes such as overturned ketchup bottles and crew cables. Those things aren't even all that OBVIOUS.

Sure, if it was a MAJOR mistake, like if you saw someone in the film playing a video game, or enjoying a Starbucks coffee, then sure, that's something to point and laugh at.

But from the looks of this, it looks like people went to see a movie specifically to point out mistakes.

The reason we are being so annoying is because this movie is or was supposed to be a classic like the others. We aren't taking about Dare Devil 2 or something, this is Indiana Jones made by the biggest names in film and they let us down hardcore despite the money its making based on hype.

Eh. Maybe Harrison Ford needed the work. I haven't seen him in anything since Firewall, and that wasn't really that great a film.

Not to mention that I never really considered Shia to be that great an actor. He's just been fortunate enough to get some really good roles.

Allright, time to give my two cents. Firewall is one of the worst harrison ford movies ever, hardly a plot in it.
His name is Sean Penn, though pronounced like Shaun.
Those Mistakes were taken from MovieMistakes.com, don't believe that site, an enourmes amount of listed mistakes are themselves simply wrong sometimes idiotically obviously wrong. When LotR came out, the first one, they listed that there were no shots of the pony crossing the mountain, allthough he was visible in every single one, even had close ups!
And about that Fridge scene. Well I guess it's hardly less plausible than parachuting from a plane in a frakking inflatable boot! Indy was never EVER EVER known for it's realism, so stop expecting it.
Indy 4 is exactly as cheesy as the first three, definitely not less believable, surely not more realistic, and it shouldn't.
Now the reason why Indy 4 is "such a let down" (which in my eyes, it wasn't) is because movies like that (like the old indys) simply don't work in todays cinemas anymore as well as they used to.

Indy is Indy as Indy was, used to be and should be!
admitted, the sci-fi stuff was a lil ott . . . but certainly true to the era.

and btw if Indy 4 is in your opinion the let down of the decade you frankly missed a large amount of movies. What about AVP1, hmm? Waited for a decade for the contents of a trashbin

I disagree with all your comments except for the AVP movies which while they sucked are still nothing compared to the anticipation of Indy 4. ps. I could care less if I'm spelling wrong because I'm not in school and you aren't my teacher you are just another dork I'm talking to online. hehe

I loved Indy 4, I don't care what anyone says. And apparently the mistakes weren't that obvious, cause these are the first people to even mention it after how long? If your looking for mistakes you'll find them, if your just enjoying the film you probably won't even notice any of them.

1. Indy 4 was a very good film. I would rank it 3rd among the Indy films after Crusade and Lost Ark.

2. Every film has a ton of "mistakes" . Ever see the original Star Wars? That movie had like 100 mistakes, including a scene of a Stormtrooper banging his head on a door that didn't open all the way on the Death Star.

3. You didn't like Indy 4? Well boo hoo for you. Judging by how it's doing so far in theaters, a lot of people other than myself did enjoy the film.

4. Just because you are not in school and are on the Internet, does not mean you shouldn't worry about spelling or grammar. Your arguments lose credibility when you look like a 10 year old, based on your writing.

As always old man Longshot you're comments are just hateful and meaningless. But I'm glad you got your social security money's worth at the theaters.

Well, how about you tell me 'why' you disagree with all of it (interestingly enough, some of the "comments" are actually facts, thus not something you can disagree with) and don't just insult me, because that really doesn't strengthen your argument.
And yes, you should care about all of that, after all this is a discussion board, where people come to discuss things, or not?

Look at the dates of the articles and also look at the magazine articles which identified the mannnnny problems with the film before it was officially released.

Please, tell me this, how can you in one single comment both blame someone for a hatefull comment and at the same time insult him worse than he did you? Where's the logic in that?

and fyi, his comments aren't quite as meaningless as you claim. He states vallid and true points (amongst other things). Well in 2. and 3. at least.

If there is no spell check then I could care less plus half the people on this website are minors. Aside from the errors in the film I hated the out-landish and rushed plot, the meaningless and under developed side characters and the dead begining and rushed ending. Oh and the cheesy lucas jokes (monkey scene, fake cgi ant scene, completely lame soviet bad guys) enough?

Now we are having a discussion and now, it's not enough. Every statement allows rebuttal and so on. So in other words: we're just getting started.
I whole heartedly agree with you about the minors. But don't you agree that that gives us adults all the more reason to act as such? i.e. not insulting someone for contradicting you and maybe check out the facts before ye post something. I don't care if ye wright a word wrong, I do so myself, but with names that's something completely different. Ye could mean someone whilst writing someone else's name.

As for your film criticism, well, good point, I agree, more or less, I really don't like those monkeys, makes no sense no matter how ye put it. But to say this movie has more lucas jokes than 1 to 3 can't be correct, since Lucas was intensively involved in the writing of the old ones as well.

I for one liked the cheesy soviets, but maybe that's because I study slavistics.

Every single Indy movie has a dead beginning, not sure what ye mean by that, but if ye're refering to the in medias res opening of the film, well the first one starts of in middle of the jungle without any sort of introduction, the second one starts of in some weird night club without any kind of introduction and the third one . . . well I kinda forgot how that one started . . .

The rushed ending, well yeah, don't really get that one either, it builds up to it, step for step, not in leaps but in steps, again, that's just my personal opinion.

Seriously friend, if you're going to set yourself up as a spelling authority, then you should really check your own posts first.

You shouldn't make comments about people's spelling unless there's some GENUINE confusion about what they mean, because you're BOUND to make a typo sooner or later.

So then you agree with me. And I disagree, every other indy film had an exciting beginning-the boat scene, the james bond-like asian scene, and the rolling stone ball! I lived in Russia for a year and those soviets are nothing like Russians but then again who knows how acurate the Nazis were to the real disgusting thing.

You shouldn't make comments about people's spelling unless there's some GENUINE confusion about what they mean, because you're BOUND to make a typo sooner or later.

True, that's why you should never judge, silly billy

Maybe ye should read what I post, mate I just said I make spelling mistakes just like everybody else, I never had the intention of setting myself up as a spelling authority (I clearly lack the authority for that ) I just tried to point out, that different names can indicate different human beings.

I disagree with all your comments except for the AVP movies which while they sucked are still nothing compared to the anticipation of Indy 4. ps. I could care less if I'm spelling wrong because I'm not in school and you aren't my teacher you are just another dork I'm talking to online. hehe

Well, I didn't expect them to be accurate, neither the nazis nor the russians. But where would the fun be, if they were 100% accurate, that would turn a feel good movie into a drama.

Eh. Maybe Harrison Ford needed the work. I haven't seen him in anything since Firewall, and that wasn't really that great a film.

1. Firewall was really good. 2. He has a movie coming out this August again, Crossing Over with Shaun Penn.

His name is Sean Penn, though pronounced like Shaun.

And about that Fridge scene. Well I guess it's hardly less plausible than parachuting from a plane in a frakking inflatable boot!

Pointing out the things others did right and wrong is not the same as judging. Judging involves negative or positive reaction. I didn't in any post ever call you an idiot or anything else because of anything that you said, nor did I imply it. But I remember you calling me a dork for no reason. So I guess you are the one doing the judging.

I do encourage pointing out the mistakes I make. Knowing ones one mistakes allows ye to learn and grow. and that's something to aspire

I see nothing hateful there.

pretty much every Indy film has some sort of Sci-fi thing to it

Raider had the ark melting peoples faces and demon like bolts coming out of the ark killing everyone

Temple had brainwashing, a guy ripping out hearts and 3 minutes later they are still alive

Crusade had a 700 yr old man guarding the holy grail

now bare in mind that these arent all sci-fi, but they are all very exagerrated just like the new one.... The newest is a lil more exagerrated, but damn I still think its great

It's funny morons are suddenly shocked by the absurdity of Indy 4 when there was plenty of that in the other two sequels.

How about the whole scene in Temple of Doom where Indy uses a raft to protect himself, Willie and Short Round? Not only does he use it to jump out of a plane hundreds of feet in the air, they even survive the fall, slide down a long snowy mountain then top top it off they fly off a giant cliff and land with no injuries.

The reason they didn't see this particular scene as a problem is because they were watching them as kids and grew up to accept that absurdity. Now that they're adults they think differently and go in expecting Indy 4 to have "realism" despite the fact that there never was such a thing in the films in the first place.

Nostalgia is a real bitch.

Indy 4 was great, I would say third best in the franchise just after Raider and before Doom.

It was an Indy movie through and through. Just because you were too young to be around when the franchise originally came out doesn't mean it wasn't an Indy film.

I do agree that the whole Alien thing was out there but if you look back on the other Indy movies it makes sense. The other Indy movies are about Religious mythologies and artifacts involving them with Indy finding out they are true and not Myth

The 4th involved Incan and Mayan mythologies and many believe there may be an extra terrestrial nature to it, seeing as how they made pyramids much like the Egyptians did without any way of knowing about the Egyptians and the advances they made far beyond there time.

The Crystal Skull was just as far fetched as Doom yet you aren't complaining about Doom now are you.

The Indy movies are meant to be fun movies, not to be picked at by real Anthropologists. Get your head out of your ass already. You can't act intelligent if you aren't. Take the movie for what it was intended to be.

It's sad that people can be this pedantic.

I'm sure if every Indy film was analyised per-second they'd look, on paper, terrible.
