It's not disappointing, but certainly below expectations. Many analysts predicted close to SWIII and SMIII numbers.

If you actually read other peoples post, they state that the movie was a dissapointment in terms of content and story, the overall box office gross is impressive considering the positive-negative word of mouth.

Ex. Spiderman3. A HUGE disappointment in terms of content, acting, fx, story, etc. but a huge success at the boxoffice (by tricking people into thinking it would be a good movie).

That's clever marketing for ya. Anyway, SM3 wasn't that big a disappointment to me. It was my favorite, actually. I saw it once and brought my girlfriend to a second showing. She liked it too.

Certainly no disappointment like King Kong's box office. I remember people saying it was going to be the next Titanic, and then it barely grossed $50 million opening wknd. I remember my teacher telling me in my face, "I guarantee you King Kong won't make more than $50 million opening weekend." I dont know how he knew, but damn did I feel embarassed having to admit he was right.

How can a $101 milloin dollar weekend be a dissapointment - this is crazy talk ,
look lets get real here - most reviews have been positive 79% on rottentomatoes for one & 7.6 out of 10 on IMDB - I can tell you only positive word of mouth can produce these sort of numbers .
