July 5, 2001 — The Associated Press brings to attention very exciting news on a Tomb Raider Ride now in development! The report reads as follows:
First, ``Lara Croft: Tomb Raider'' hit movie theaters; next year, she'll roll into Paramount's Kings Island as a new ride.
``Tomb Raider: The Ride'' will drop riders into dark caverns and feature computerized special effects. Guests will be able to experience the ride while waiting in line.
``From the moment you enter the tomb and begin winding through the caverns, there will be special effects and things occurring at different points,'' said Jeff Siebert, park spokesman.
Park officials wouldn't say how much the new ride would cost to build. The park is about 25 miles north of Cincinnati.
The film based on the popular video game, starring Angelina Jolie, has taken in $101.6 million in three weeks. |
