Capsule Review

SUBMITTED BY Fred Hill

August 2, 2001

Here is some "capsule" review from Newhouse News Service which was released on July 30, 2001. There were many about movies to come and some that have been out for awhile.

FILM CLIPS: Capsule reviews of current movies; stars range from zero to four...

"EVOLUTION" Advertised as a shoot-the-works screwball monster mash, Ivan Reitman's sci-fi caper actually grounds its humor in the nimble soft-shoe byplay among David Duchovny, Orlando Jones and Julianne Moore. They're rival scientists coping with alien life forms rapidly mutating and multiplying in the Arizona desert. Improbably charming, though short on blockbuster gags (the best: a flying dinosaur unleashed in an indoor shopping mall). Mild visual/dialogue vulgarisms. Rated PG-13. Running time: 105 minutes. THREE STARS
