On the set of Evolution, David Duchovny dropped trou spontaneously to make a funny scene funnier, and his costars can't stop talking about it--mostly because Duchovny wouldn't stop talking about it. "He loves his butt," says costar and love interest Julianne Moore. "He can't keep his pants on. He gave me a videotape of his butt; he gave me a Polaroid. I'm like, 'Yes, David, you have a beautiful butt.' " Orlando Jones, who plays Duchovny's best friend in the sci-fi comedy, may have had the best view. "He stank pretty," he remembers. "All I can say is David has brought new meaning to the Sir Mix-a-Lot term put 'em on the glass."
Duchovny says he was just going with his comic instincts. "It wasn't like, 'Please put my ass in the movie,' " he says. "I just did it a few times, and Ivan [Reitman] said, 'I don't know. I'm laughing, but I don't know if it'll play funny, and I don't know if it's right for the character.' You try different things, and some fall out, some stay in. My ass stayed in the picture."
