With everyone asking about favorites, I figured i'd explore other people's interests in my favorite form of entertainment. So, what are your favorite musicals, and, if you have them, theatrical actors and actresses?

My favorite musicals are:

Bat Boy
Phantom of the Opera(I see it in November for the first time, but I love the soundtrack with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman)
Les Miserables
The Producers
Kiss Me Kate
You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown(I was Linus in my middle schools production)
Rogers and Hammerstein's musicals(There are too many to name)
West Side Story
The Music Man
Little Shop of Horrors
Rocky Horror Show
Anything by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber
Rogers and Hammerstein's musicals(There are too many to name)
+ many more.

Actors/Actresses: Kevin Chamberlin, the entire cast of Bat Boy, particularly Deven May, Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Janine LaManna, Joannah Gleason, Bernadette Peters, Colm Wilkinson, Terrence Mann, Tom Hewitt, Samuel E. Wright(Sabastian in the Little Mermaid, currently Mufasa in Broadways version of The Lion King), Heather Headly, Nathan Lane, Mathew Broderick, Lea Salonga, Anthony Rapp, B.D. Wong(Linus in the Broadway revival of YAGMCB), Kristen Chenowith, Donny Osmond, + many more.

Honestly, I could go on forever, but let's get some other opinions up here.

Human brain, hahaha. Some of us don't have human brains. - 3rd Rock From the Sun

I like 'em all. I saw Aida with Heather Headley, that was really good. I also saw Camelot, that was pretty good. My favorites are Bye Bye Birdie and The Music Man since I was in those. I was also in a bunch of school musicals, but those aren't what you're talking about. Oh yeah, Oklahoma! is good.

The video or a stage production? I own the video, the cast is very talented, but i've never seen it on stage.

I like Les Miserables.

I have been in lots of plays. But only in two musicals.

Back in Junior High I was in a musical called Bugsy Malone.

And last year I was in "Your A Good Man, Charlie Brown" and I played Linus too! Cool huh?!?!

"My blanket and me!"

Stage:
Les Mis (my fav, seeing it for the fourth time in a couple of weeks!)
Lion King (lived up to all my expectations and surpassed them, it was fantastic)
Chicago
Titanic (they did a really good job with the sets for this show, and the show itself was also fantastic)
Sunset Boulevard (absolutely brilliant)
Phantom of the Opera
The Music Man (did a production of this in high school, what a fun show)

Film:
Singing in the Rain
Moulin Rouge
Meet me in St. Louis (gotta love Judy Garland)
Easter Parade (Judy Garland and Fred Estaire, what a combo)
West Side Story

"My blanket and me!"

Awsome!!

"Happiness is having a sister."

"In examining a work such as Peter Rabbit, it is important that the superficial characteristics of its deceptively simple plot should not be allowed to blind the reader to the more substantial fabrics of its deeper motivations. In this report I plan to discuss the socialogical implications of family pressures so great as to drive an otherwise moral rabbit to perform acts of theivory which he conciously knew were against the law. I also hope to explore the personality of Mr McGregor in his roles as farmer and humanitarian."

What a great role to play. You get to suck your thumb, carry around a blanket(even get a dance solo with it) and act smarter then everybody else. Lots of fun.

Carolee Carmello and Burke Moses are two more greats of the stage, I saw them in "Kiss Me, Kate." Also in "Kiss Me, Kate" were Michael Gruber, Munkustrap in the "Cats" Video, and Stanley Wayne Mathis, Bonzai in the original "Lion King" and Schroder in the revival of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." "Cats" also brings to mind Elaine Paige, Grizabella from the video. Her "Memory" is beautiful and tragic.

I just realized that April will be a huge month of Disney musicals for me: I see "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aida" here in Rochester, and "The Lion King," hopefully with Samuel E. Wright as Mufasa, in NYC.
