| Well...my story is a long and simple one. My sister bought the 1st book in an airport, I thought, my 10 year-old cousin is reading the second one, it's a little kids book. ON the airplane ride home, I tried to read the first chapter, but I couldn't stand it! So, I didn't touch the book for weeks. Then on the 3 hour drive home from the family reunion my sister had the book and I was bored so I said," Give me that stupid book." I forced myself through the first few pages and the rest of the first chapter. Then I started getting into it. By the time we got home, I was on the chapter, " Quidditch." I couldn't put the book down, I finished it that night and I finished the 4 books in a week. |

| Ummm...lets see. It was in 7th grade and a girl named Jessee was reading the third book and the teacher goes up to her and says " Jessee, so do you like the Harry Potter books? I have heard they are really good. " Soon afterwards everyone started reading them and I had to go try one, cause usually, if everyone likes them, I will like them too. So I went out that night and bought the first book. I read it and read it until I was finished with it. It was great. Soon later I read the 2nd and the third and waited a long time for the 4th book to come out. After the third book I was hooked. I had to read more. So here I am now on Harry Potter message boards, collecting the merchandise, and having so much fun reading the books over and over again. I can't wait til the 5th book comes out and until the movie finally comes out on November the 16th. Yippee! Hey People. Please visit the Thunderpants forumn. It's funny and I would like to talk to some other people about the movie too. Oh yea, other ones I visit are Disney, thunderpants, princess diaries, harry potter 1, harrypotter 2 and harry potter 3. |

| I was in my brother's room playing the sims, and he was listening to the very last tape of Prisoner of Azkaban. I listened with him, and though i didn't really know what was going on, I knew I loved it. When it was over I asked him to start on the first book, and within the week we had listened to all four of them. I would have read them, but as I was in the middle of a college semester and I'm a history major I had tons to read, the tapes were the only way to read them. That woulda been this past spring, and since then i've listened to all the books about 7 times, I would read them but I am still in school right now, trying to finish this next May. Once I finish I am actually going to sit and read them, though I must say I always thought listening to books on tape was BS, but when it's unabridged, as these are, it's actually great 'cause it's the only way i could read anything for pleasure. Sometimes I really hate being a history major . . . "The veiling shadow that glowers in the east takes shape. | Hmmm...My story is actually pretty interesting. I read the first one RIGHT when it came out, when NOBODY had heard of Harry Potter, and in fact, neither had I. I was sitting in my dance studio, waiting for my class to start, and was bored. There was a book on the bench next to me and I picked it up. Didn't look at the cover, didn't read the back. So I started reading with literally no clue. I actually thought Dudley was going to be the hero! I didn't learn the title till I had read about three chapters, because a kid came out of his dance class and demanded his book back, but I wanted to finish it, so I had to know the title to buy it. I, too, was hooked at page 1. |

You know it's weird. I know exactly what you are talking about, even though I haven't got a clue what you're saying. God bless the USA!!!!!! Red, white, and blue forever! |

I believe that I was hooked the moment I read the part about the cat reading the map.
I just went, WHAT *\eyes bulging/* .. Then the rest is history, as some would say, and many sleepless nights followed reading book after book until I finished.
But, my friends I was not through, I needed more, so I turned to the net and found more information than I had ever thought humanly possible to know and understand. But, I was wrong.
So I burned myself out with it and faded into my own mind to read nothing and to sleep
Tonight, history is going to be made. And it isn't the discovery-of-radium, first-man-on-the-moon-hap py kind of history.
It's the Spanish-Inquisition, here-comes-the-Hindenburg bad kind of history. |
