Jackie Chan Reviews Spider-Man

SUBMITTED BY LClem

July 10, 2002 — Now, go easy on the guy...Super heroes are not his area of expertese! Jackie had a break during the filming of "Shanghai Knights" and wanted to see Spider-Man. He and his stunt team went to a mall in Prague and here is some of his review:

"Although I liked certain aspects of Spiderman, I dont think its my kind of movie. The films target audience must be children. The action, the sets and even the actors looked like they were computer generated in more than one scene. There wasnt much creativity in the fights and there were problems with the story. Maybe because I didnt fully understand the English language or the American culture, but some things just didnt make sense."

Jackie tells of all the parts that did not make sense to him but then finishes by saying:

" I think the director and the producers were really clever. They created a good story that is inspiring and heroic. Although both leading actors were young, they were both convincing in the roles they played.

I like the message that this film sends out to the public. It encourages people to believe in themselves and to try to help others. If we lived in a world where everyone tried to help each other, then we would live in peace. "
