June 20, 2002 — Box Office Mojo tells us:
Making way for the 3,000-plus theater launches of 'Minority Report' and
'Lilo & Stitch,' 'Spider-Man' will drop 424 theaters on Friday, bringing its
total down to 2,278. However, this may not affect business too much as
evidenced by the past two weekends. 'Spidey' shedded over 400 theaters on
each frame, yet its box office fell 28% at most.
On Wednesday, 'Spidey' netted $795,964 for a 48-day tally of $385,034,435,
firmly entrenched at No. 5 on the unadjusted all time chart and jumping one
spot to No. 37 on the adjusted list -- just ahead of 'Pinocchio' but
slightly behind 'Home Alone.'
Monday -- its 46th day of release -- was the first day its grosses fell
below $1 million.
