June 6, 2002 — Stan Lee was on AOL Live a few nights ago, and was asked about the Spider-Man movie:
Host: Not at all. One of our members wanted to know what you thought of the successful Spider-Man movie.
Stan Lee: You will not be surprised to learn that I liked it a hell of a lot.
Host: What did you think of the casting?
Stan Lee: Casting couldn't have been better. It was perfect. In fact, the fellow who played J. Jonah Jameson, he was so good. He was as good as I would have been if I played that role. And, of course, Tobey Maguire was perfect. Everybody was worried about him in the beginning. But the minute I saw him doing his bit as Peter Parker, I knew he was just right. And, of course, everybody was -- the girl was wonderful. The aunt and uncle. You couldn't get anybody better than Willem Dafoe to be the Green Goblin. I just loved the casting. And, of course, we had as good a director as you could find anywhere in the world -- Sam Raimi. He put it all together magnificently.
