December 2, 2002 — Spider-Man has been voted "The Film Of The Year" by cinema audiences, according to a poll by Total Film magazine.
The movie - with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst - was praised for
its "faithful" re-telling of the comic book tale.
Mel Gibson's spooky crop circle epic Signs took second spot, for blending humour with chills.
And sci-fi thriller Minority Report came in third.
Heist movie Ocean's Eleven, starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt and
Julia Roberts, ranked fourth after surpassing Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack original.
