In the script what year dos it take place? I want to know. In X-Men the movie the story tuck place in 2002 in the Fall. Witch you would know if you read the book. So if Spider-Man takes place before the X-Men story takes place it just makes more sense. So like in Spider-Man the movie if Spider-Man is born in like the year 1996 it would be better. I also hope in the Fantastic Four movie it takes place in the late 60s or early 70s it would just make more sense in the marvel movie world. So if you know what year the story takes place tell me.

Love. Sailor Saturn.

Grab a fence post, hold it tight, Womp your partner with all your might. Hit him in the shin, hit him in the head, Hit him again, the critter ain't dead. Wop him low and wop him high, Stick your finger in his eye. Pretty little rhythm, pretty little sound, Bang your heads against the ground.

O.K. No shortage of pot in the Sacramento area, apparently. First of all, when you put all your eggs in one basket and rely solely on one piece of reading material for information on a movie tie-in, you'll always be setting yourself up for a letdown. Generally, novelizations of movies are usually taken from early drafts of the scripts. In the case of the X-men movie, a lot of stuff in the novelization didn't make it into the final cut of the film(i.e. Jean Grey using her telekenesis in the Senate hearing).
Another thing for all true believers to chew on, when it comes to comic book series like Spider-man or the Fantastic Four, time isn't all that relative. Why else do you think that Peter Parker is still in his early-to-mid twenties even though he's been ol' webhead for almost forty years? Basically, The Spiderman movie will be set in the here and now where Peter Parker is a teenager and socially inept.
The only time where comic book movies should really be set in a specific time period is if the story itself is a period piece like a western(Jonah Hex).

Hey, I got more fingers than that.

Well in spider-man time line is not to inportent, but
in fantastic four it dose. fantastic four and x-men are
both made by 20th fox. So the problem is if the fantastic four get thir powers in the movie in say the year 2001. It dose not make sens that you have people that hate mutants, but love the fantastic four that are in fact people that have evolved into mutants by cosmic rays. so you see it makes alot more sens to set the fantastic four movie in the late 60.

What?????????????? O.K. right off the bat, the X-Men and the Fantastic Flicks being distributed by the same studio is irrelevant. Also, a little history lesson for the kiddies, both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men started back in the early sixties(both co-created by the immortal Stan Lee); so, by that reasoning, the X-men movie should have been set in the sixties, too; but, it wasn't and it didn't hurt the film at all.
Incidentally, none of the Marvel heroes(Fantastic 4 included) are immune to the hate-mongers. Peter Parker evolved to become Spider-Man and lots of folks have come to perceive him as much of a menace as the X-men. Same thing goes for Bruce Banner evolviyng into the Hulk. Reed Richards and company just happen to have better public relations people than the other do-gooders in long underwear.
Bottom line, if you want to see the origin of the FF dated in the sixties, either find a copy of the original comic book reprint somewhere or find a bootleg video of the early sixties cartoon show done by Hanna/Barbera which looks pretty sweet, by the way. But, if the movie ever gets done, it will be done in the here and now. Whether it makes sense or not, it dosen't matter. If you're waiting to find sense and reason in the Hollywood community, you might wanna pack a lunch.
