August 5, 2001 — Here is a review that gives JP3 an 6/10 rating. Not too bad but
then again not too good.
SEQUELS are all well and good when they offer new
ideas.
More of the same only bigger is not good enough. And Jurassic
Park III (PG), while entertaining, is not good enough.
It covers pretty much the same territory, throws in some old
dinosaurs, and introduces us to some new ones.
Palaeontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill, one of the heroes of the
first film but missing from the sequel), reluctantly agrees to act as
guide on a fly-over of the island of Isla Sorna ' where dinosaurs
were genetically created for the ill-conceived Jurassic Park theme
park ' to celebrate Paul and Amanda Kirby's wedding
anniversary.
To Grant's horror, the plane lands. Three of the party run off
into the forest armed to the teeth and Mrs Kirby (Tea Leoni) yells
through a megaphone for someone called Eric...
