Kevin Donovan

Kevin Donovan is making his feature film debut with “The Tuxedo.”

A native of Montana, Donovan attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, before moving on to New York where he was an art director at Cliff Freeman and Partners. Turning his focus to directing commercials, Donovan has enjoyed tremendous success in the U.S. and more recently, Canadian markets.

Renowned for his pronounced taste for the absurd, Donovan’s work has been said to “combine off-kilter comedy with muscular execution.” He has garnered numerous accolades for his work, most recently winning a Silver Lion for his spot “Funeral” for the University of California, and a Bronze Lion for “The Rant” for Molson Canadian at the 2000 Cannes Commercial Film Festival. “The Rant,” statistically the most popular television commercial in Canadian history, also won best of show at the 2001 Marketing Awards and Bessies, as well as being shown as story content on every major U.S. news network. At the 1998 London International Film Festival, Donovan won a Gold Award for Salon Selectives’ “Customized Boyfriend;” the following year he captured Gold twice more for his spots for Salon Selectives’ “Customized Family” and Wyndham Hotel’s “Cirque du Soleil.” In 1996, his spot for Centura Bank won a Bronze Lion. Additionally, Donovan has co-created numerous award-winning commercials for such clients as Pepsi, Little Caesars, and Miller Beer.

Donovan lives in the Billings/Bozeman area of Montana.
